Say hello
Every brain starts as a dot.

Small dot.
Big brain.

We overthink every detail of our software, so you never have to.

See why

Why we're called Dotbrain

Every idea starts as a dot. A small one. Then we think about it. Then we think about it some more. We ask what it should never do. We take things out. Most of that thinking you will never see. That's the point.

Four habits we don't break.

They slow us down at the start and save everyone time after. Open one to see what it means in practice.

  1. We spend longer on the question than on the code. The best feature is often the one we decided not to build.

  2. Software that does one thing well is easier to trust, easier to learn and easier to keep good for years.

  3. If something can run on your own computer or phone, it runs there. It's faster, it works offline and it stays yours.

  4. Nothing goes out until we'd happily use it ourselves, every day, without a workaround.

What you won't find here.

Ads.
Tracking.
Selling your data.
Training on your stuff.

None of it, ever.

If something can run on your own device, it runs there. If it ever needs to leave, we tell you first and you decide.

You're the reason we build software, never the thing we sell.

Built by people,
for people.

A person decides what we make, how it should feel and when it's ready. A person tests it on their own machine before it reaches yours.

And when you write to us, a person writes back.

Every release, signed off by a person.
